Hey {{first_name|there}},
The deal
Welcome to the first real issue of Vegas Tech Post. This week, Tech Alley rolls into Henderson and announces its first LaunchLab cohort, live. A UNLV spinout is turning desert air into drinking water, Nevada just cleared the runway for up to 8,000 robotaxis, and StartUpNV has $200K sitting there for the next Nevada founder who pitches. Big week to be building here.
The score
WAVR Technologies raises to scale its desert water-from-air tech. The UNLV spinout is closing a $4M raise (already banked $1.25M) and has scaled from a few milliliters a day to 20 liters per unit, working even at 10% humidity. Read the story
Nevada clears the runway for up to 8,000 robotaxis in Clark County. Tesla, Uber, and Waymo all got approved, Tesla alone holds a permit for 5,000 vehicles, though its own engineers say they will not hit that number within a year. Read the story
