Switch drops $196M on 176 acres at Apex. Las Vegas–based Switch closed on 176.5 acres in North Las Vegas’ Apex Industrial Park for $196 million (sale closed Aug 31; reported Sep 11) — part of a larger land binge as AI-driven data-center demand keeps climbing. Since late last year the company has bought roughly 546 acres in Southern Nevada for about $463 million, including nearly 493 acres in Apex alone. Review-Journal
Southern Nevada breaks ground on ~$1B transmission for data-center load. Officials broke ground Sep 8 in Jean on GridLiance West’s Core Upgrades Project — about 155 miles of line and substation work in Clark and Nye counties, adding roughly 1 GW of capacity as data-center demand climbs. Vegas-based MBody AI turns Mohegan Sun pilot into paid robots. MBody AI (Nasdaq: MBAI), headquartered in Las Vegas, said its autonomous robots finished a proof-of-concept at Mohegan Sun in Connecticut and stayed on under a paid commercial agreement; a larger multi-year fleet expansion is still in talks.
